On December 22, 2007 more than 300 leaders from every segment of the travel industry gathered at the Pierre Hotel in New York City at the Travel Weekly 3rd Annual Readers Choice Gala to see who among them would walk away with a coveted Travel Weekly Readers Choice Award.
At the Gala it was announced that Apple Vacations was voted #1 tour operator to the Caribbean and for the second year in a row, the #1 operator to Mexico.
Voting in the Travel Weekly Readers Choice Award is by open ballot – readers can write in any company they wish in a category. The names of the leading candidates are then identified as finalists. Out of the multitude of industry suppliers, Travel Weekly’s readers selected 129 as finalists, and 45 as winners.
“It’s our pleasure to recognize and celebrate the hard work and success of the leaders in the travel industry,” said Bob Sullivan, publisher of Travel Weekly. “What makes these awards special is that the readers choose the winners.
